A quote while watching "The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights" struck me at the exact right time. Thought I would share some of it:
"inspiration and work ethic, they ride right next to each other ….. not every day of your life you're gonna wake up and the clouds are gonna part and the rays from heaven are gonna come down and you're gonna write a song from it, sometimes you just get in there and just force yourself to work and maybe something good will come out … force yourself into it …. deadlines and things make you creative, but opportunity, and telling yourself 'I got all the time in the world, all the money in the world, all the colors in the palette you want, anything you want,' I mean, that just kills creativity."
- Jack White
...I guess now it's just a matter of continuing to convince myself that these things, these songs, this music making really does matter. If it matters to me, than it matters..... that doesn't necessarily make it self-serving.... or perhaps it does, but as such, perhaps it serves a greater good as well?
i'm done with the walls ... just wish i knew how to destroy them once and for all.
